Change Bag – clever use of a force.
By Norman Hunter (author of the Professor Branestawm books)

The full routine for this was published in Successful Conjuring for Amateurs (1951).

You need a one-handed Change Bag and seven silks: one red, one blue, one yellow and 4 green. Green is going to be the force colour. Place 3 green silks in one side. That’s all the preparation.

Show the 4 differently coloured silk hankies and place 3 of them into the empty side of the Change Bag. Switch sides and place the green silk with the other green silks already in there.
Shake the bag and get a child to take out one silk. Have the green side only open.
Now switch sides and empty out the other colours. No green!
The child MUST have had a free choice!

***Now comes an excellent tip: use sponge balls instead of silks. It’s much easier for a child to pick up one ball, whereas it would be embarrassing if a child pulled out two silks of the same colour. The working is identical to using silks.
