Dream Bags 1) Here's a simple, but very effective, idea from John Perrett. The usual method for this effect is to show the bag empty, and then make your production. Instead, John suggests that you load the bag with some other props you are going to use. These are gradually removed the bag before you go into your production. It reinforces the idea that the bag must be completely empty. 2) And here's another idea for increasing the production from the Dream Bags. Get hold of three silks to match the colours of the clear boxes (typically: red, blue and yellow). Fold these and place them into the flattened clear boxes (making sure you match the colours!) Set up the bag in the usual manner, then reach inside, pull up the first flap and take hold of the silk. Shake it as you remove it, so it doesn't emerge folded; then remove the first clear box. Repeat with the other boxes. For virtually no effort, you have doubled the production. 3) If the venue warrants it (i.e. NOT in someone's front room!) tip some glitter into the folds of each of the silks for a really showy production. |
